Overview
Volunteers of America Colorado’s Meals on Wheels program needed a mobile food truck to expand its reach. The vehicle would serve at community events and deliver meals to people unable to access drop-off sites. The design needed to feel both inviting and mission-focused while aligning with VOA’s established identity.
Challenge
The creative task was to turn a blank utility truck into a moving symbol of nourishment and care. The design had to capture the warmth of VOA Colorado’s mission while remaining legible, uplifting, and true to the organization’s trusted voice across various community settings.
Solution
I created a bright, approachable wrap design featuring bold produce illustrations along with the Denver city skyline that reflects VOA Colorado’s community roots. The message “Nourishing Communities” became the central focus, tying together Meals on Wheels’ outreach and VOA Colorado’s broader mission to serve those in need.
Impact
The completed truck became an extension of VOA Colorado’s brand, instantly recognizable across neighborhoods and at public events. It now serves as both a functional vehicle and a storytelling tool that visually connects the organization’s purpose with the people it feeds.
