Overview
In October 2024, Volunteers of America Colorado launched its first-ever CAMP38 fundraising event at Number 38 in Denver. I led naming, branding, and design to craft a vibrant, story-driven experience that celebrated community, connection, and generosity—bringing together Camp POSTCARD and four additional VOA programs under one cohesive, handcrafted visual identity.
Challenge
The challenge was to build an entirely new fundraising brand that united five distinct programs while feeling playful, professional, and deeply human. With limited time, varied lighting, and a live venue environment, every design decision—from signage to presentation—needed to work seamlessly in motion and embody both grassroots warmth and polished credibility.
Solution
I developed a handcrafted identity inspired by Colorado’s outdoors—featuring mountain-striped textures, bold typography, and grounded color. The visual system extended across slides, signage, apparel, social media, and photography. Each detail connected strategy and storytelling, transforming the venue into an immersive experience that reflected both the mission and the spirit of community collaboration.
Impact
CAMP38 raised nearly $40,000 in its first year, gaining media coverage and elevating VOA Colorado’s creative presence. The cohesive identity unified diverse programs, inspired donor engagement, and set a new benchmark for future events—proving how thoughtful design can turn storytelling into impact and community energy into meaningful action.
