Overview

Camp POSTCARD (Police Officers Striving To Create And Reinforce Dreams) is one of Volunteers of America Colorado’s most impactful youth programs, pairing children with mentors from law enforcement and public service for a week of outdoor adventure and confidence-building. I was tasked with creating a timeless visual identity that embodies mentorship, connection, and the spirit of community.

Challenge

The existing logo no longer reflected the program’s enduring values or vibrant energy. The new identity needed to balance fun and professionalism while remaining flexible across t-shirts, signage, and digital materials. It had to resonate equally with campers, counselors, and supporters—capturing both the excitement of camp and the integrity of its mentorship mission.

Solution

I designed a one-color badge logo symbolizing both unity and purpose. Its shield form honors law enforcement mentors, while mountains and treelines celebrate Colorado’s natural beauty. At the center, a glowing campfire represents connection, growth, and shared experience. This simple yet powerful design became the cornerstone of a cohesive system spanning apparel, signage, and communications.

Impact

The new Camp POSTCARD identity reignited pride and recognition within the community, providing a clear, meaningful symbol for participants and supporters alike. The badge now unites generations of campers and mentors, embodying the program’s legacy of belonging, leadership, and hope—an emblem that inspires connection and reinforces the courage to dream bigger.
